The NEWA annual exhibition held at Goredale Garden Centre on the Wirral comes to an end this weekend - Sunday 3rd August. Well worth a visit, don't miss this last chance to see Andrew's work alongside over 400 paintings and sculptures by many of the country's leading wildlife artists.
(See previous post 10/7/14) There is opportunity to see some of Andrew's most recent work when he exhibits as part of the National Exhibition of Wildlife Art. As the name suggests, this is an exhibition that brings together some of the country's leading artists and this year will also be featuring the "British Wildlife in Art Award". Held on the Wirral at the Goredale Garden Centre (Sat Nav: CH64 8TF), it runs from the 18th July to the 3rd of August and entry is free of charge. However don't worry if you cannot make it in person! It will also be possible to view much of the work from the exhibition and even purchase artworks online through the NEWA website: www.newa-uk.com of for further information email info@newa-uk.com In the next few weeks you may see the new boxes for “Yorkshire Gold” tea appearing on the shelves of your local supermarket or corner shop. Following the popularity of his illustrations for the iconic “Yorkshire Tea” brand as well as a special limited Ashes Test match edition, Andrew was asked to produce a painting that could be used for the newly designed “Yorkshire Gold” box. The brief was to use a very different palette of colours in order to reflect the distinct difference between the two tea blends. Happy New Year! February brings another chance to see some of Andrew's work. From the 1st of the month until 3rd March 2014 a selection of both original paintings and limited edition prints (see "Eggs", right) will be on show at The Inspired by Gallery in the beautiful setting of The Moors National Park Centre, Danby, North Yorkshire YO21 2NB. Please note: this exhibition will be open at weekends only 10.30 a.m. - 4.00 p.m. until half term. After that it will be open daily. Well, the exhibition's over for another year and a big thank you to all of you who attended (especially those who travelled so far) and made it such a success! It's always good to see familiar faces as well as to meet so many new people. For those who couldn't attend can I just draw your attention to the four new prints (among them: "Asian Baby Elephant" and the "Mountain Hare" - see right) produced for this years exhibition and now available on the print gallery page. Not only will next week's exhibition in Guisborough, North Yorkshire be an opportunity to meet Andrew and a see many of his latest paintings but also the first chance you will have to buy one of his new limited edition prints. "Edible Fungus" (pictured right) is one of 4 new images that will be on sale on the day. So come along on Saturday 9th November to Sunnyfield House, Guisborough, North Yorkshire TS14 6BA (10.00 a.m. - 4.00 p.m. entry free). Hope to see you there! Be sure to keep Saturday 9th November free in your diary as Andrew will be holding his annual exhibition of original paintings in his hometown. For one day only, at Sunnyfield House, Guisborough, North Yorkshire TS14 6BA (10.00 a.m. - 4.00 p.m. entry free), you will be able to see and purchase about thirty of Andrew's most recent works. A good opportunity to do some early Christmas shopping and buy from his wide range of limited edition prints too! Last year Andrew was delighted when he was asked to produce illustrations as part of the new-design packaging for Taylors of Harrogate's iconic "Yorkshire Tea" brand. The brief was to make a more realistic style of image without significantly changing the overall look of the familiar package. The paintings were also to include familiar features of the Yorkshire countryside: the Dales' Ribblehead viaduct, Castle Bolton and the Moors' Rosedale mines. Then this summer, following on from this and with Yorkshire Tea being the "official brew" of the England cricket team at the Ashes test matches, it was decided to produce a special edition box featuring a typical cricket ground scene. For Andrew, as a keen listener to Radio5 Live's Test Match Special, this had to be the dream job! |
